Many men of all ages, but particularly over 30 are low on Testosterone and they don’t even know it. There are some signs that you can look out for but if you don’t know what they are, how can you do anything about it?
The fact is that if you are low on Testosterone, this will affect every aspect of your life from confidence, judgements, muscle mass, body fat to sexual functioning. You may be aware of some or all of these signs but if you are not, here is a guide.
Many things are affecting Testosterone levels in men, some of which are new to our age such as the water you drink, soya products or even GM foods.
Here are 14 signs to look out for to see if you are low on Testosterone:
If you are experiencing problems with erections during sexual intercourse, it may well be that you are low on Testosterone.
Another tell-tell sign of low Testosterone is if you find that you are having very little or no morning erections.
If you find that you no longer think about sex or are not “that bothered” about it, then you could well be low on Testosterone.
Testosterone is the master hormone and gets you going. If you find you are tired, not driven and find it hard to make a solid decision, you may be low on Testosterone.
Hair loss on the scalp is different from body and facial hair loss. If you find that you are losing hair on your face and other parts of your body, low Testosterone may be the culprit.
Testosterone reduces body fat and is an important hormone for keeping you lean. If you find that you are putting on weight and are no longer lean and not much else has changed in your lifestyle, then you may be low on Testosterone.
Osteoporosis is common in women but can affect both sexes. A reduction in general bone mass can be caused by low Testosterone levels.
The big clue to whether you are low on Testosterone is muscle mass. Testosterone builds muscles and if you are low on it, you will find that you are losing muscle mass or just finding it hard to build muscles.
Scientific research has shown that men with low Testosterone are more “down” and depressed and irritable.
Several studies have shown that a lowering of Testosterone affects memory and recall. If you find that your memory is unusually not like what it used to be, then the cause can be low Testosterone.
Another sign of low Testosterone.
Less Testosterone production can happen and a reduction in your testes is a big clue to this.
Low Testosterone can cause anaemia and a reduction in general blood count. If you suspect this, you should got to your doctor for a blood test.
Men with low Testosterone are often indifferent and “placid”. If you didn’t used to be like this and suddenly you find you are too placid, you may be low on Testosterone.
