Former Mr Scotland Davie Hennessey, 51 was due to marry his fiance last week but was struck by a train in unknown circumstances. His fiance Elaine Elliot, 30, from Bishopton, works as a personal fitness trainer at the Pro-Life Fitness Centre in Paisley where former British and Scottish body-building champion Davie trained. The couple had celebrated their impending marriage at the plush Chardon d’Or Restaurant in Glasgow on Wednesday last week. Elaine has taken to social media to mourn the death of "the love of her life".
Davie died at Bishopton Railway Station in Renfrewshire shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon the week before. It is unclear how he ended up on the tracks and a full police investigation is being carried out. Davie had proposed to Elaine after getting down on one knee at a bodybuilding contest in Perth in June 2015. The former bouncer had just won the the Masters Over-40s and Overall Winner prizes at the British Natural Bodybuilding Federation’s (BNBF) Scottish Championships. RIP Davie. You will be missed.
