We used to make protein bars at LA Muscle. They were pretty decent too. In fact, they won a few awards. We stopped making them primarily because we had tried to keep only the best whey protein in them and the price of raw materials went right up. They were also with minimum artificial additives which made their price steep and people didn’t understand their sophisticated formula. Customers were asking for a cheap protein bar and we stopped making them.
I am glad we stopped making them. I think anyone that wants to build a decent body should not be eating protein bars. They are not good for you. Sorry! I know it doesn’t sound “cool” especially since everyone keeps telling you to supplement with protein all the time.
I went on Amazon typed in “protein bars” just now. I am going to go over with you, the ingredients of the number 1 selling protein bar that came up. These ingredients are not listed on the maker of this bar’s own website! Let’s see if you agree with me that you really don’t need protein bars in your life, especially if you want to a) be healthy and b) have a decent lean physique.
Protein Bar X - Best seller on Amazon
If you want milk, drink a glass of milk! You don’t need to get it in a bar, highly processed and heated. Of course, you would be much better off drinking lactose-free milk.
Xylitol
We consume it in many sugar-free products. I will just tell you one thing: The tiniest amount of Xylitol can be fatal to dogs! Think about that!
2% of the bar is made up of salt. The bar is 60g, so each bar contains 1.2g of salt - this is assuming they have listed ALL the salt in the bar, which is doubtful. The recommended daily intake of salt is 2g a day. So, this one bar gives you over half of your RDA of salt per day. Salt makes you hold on to water and gives you that bloated look! Hardly ideal if you are trying to look lean.
Made up of over 50% saturated fat. Some people say it is good for you. Some people say it’s bad.
The above is not the only things in the No.1 selling protein bar on Amazon. There’s more but I hope you get the picture.
I am not here to tell you to not buy protein bars. If they serve a purpose in your life, such as convenience, then go for it. However, if you want to be truly healthy from the inside, then it’s surely obvious that an artificial food such as a highly processed protein bar is not the right choice.
Sure, you are going to say that other protein bars are better. They are all the same more or less. Those that contain sugar are also just as bad as they mess around with your hormone levels and harm your pancreas.
I am sure you feel “uncomfortable” that the founder of a supplements company is telling you that protein bars are not the best thing to take but hey, what can I tell you! I have always been honest with our customers and will always be honest and share with you true knowledge that can serve you.
Life is a game. You have to be smart in your play to win. The smart choice with regards to your body is to treat it with respect. If you do want to make dramatic changes to your body, protein bars, protein cookies, protein candy, protein popcorn etc will not do that. The only real physiological change will come from capsules which contain rare ingredients in strong enough doses to make a true change. This is why LA Muscle specialises in what will truly give you real and significant results with minimum side effects.
You don’t have to take my word for things by the way. I am only here to guide you. Please have a read of the ingredients of your favourite protein bar. Make your own decisions from there.
