72 year old Strongman and bodybuilding Champion Manuel Valbuena Andes better known as the "Granddad Bodybuilder" has died in a car crash in Spain. He was driving from Valencia to Alicante for a show. Manuel who only started hitting the gym at the grand old age of 49 started doing so due to early retirement and the fact that his doctor warned him his drinking and smoking was putting his health at risk. Manuel started his bodybuilding career training in Madrid and did his first competition when he was 53 years old. He was a regular personality appearing on Spanish TV and competed in Spain and across Europe. RIP Manuel and thank you for inspiring so many with your great physique and your sense of humour and showing that it is never too late to start weight training and improving one's physique.
