With the start of the new year comes a range of new personal challenges with one of the first on the agenda; to get back into shape after the Christmas and New Year festivities. Losing weight itself can always be a challenge, but if you set yourself some guidelines and follow them through then you should start seeing results in no time at all.
AVOID FAD DIETS
As part of your new year’s mindset, it might seem right to ditch a lot of bad foods in favour of a new diet to help shift the weight but don’t be influenced by whatever is trending. Veganuary, Dry January, 30-day fitness challenges are just some that always seem to be trending in the new year but none of them will work for you if you don’t like them and they don’t become part of your lifestyle.
TRAIN REGULARLY
This might seem obvious but after a long break a lot of people just aren’t mentally and physically ready to embark on a new exercise and diet plan and only half commit to it. This goes without saying for all training and diet plans but if you don’t fully commit to them then you won’t see the results you’re after.
STAY MOTIVATED
Half the battle is just turning up. You can’t get away with a couple of sessions a week and half committing to your diet. It really is all or nothing when it comes to your fitness goals and they should really become part of your lifestyle if you’re going to achieve and keep your results.
IGNORE / AVOID DISTRACTIONS
If you’re going to achieve your goals then you have to, not only be motivated, but you also have to be consistent and avoid anything that distracts you from your task at hand. Try and avoid anything negative that can make you stray from your plans as they will dramatically impact your results and de-motivate you.
HAVE FUN WITH IT
The new year is always a good time to start something as everyone tends to approach it with a fresh and positive outlook. That’s great and all, but it doesn’t tend to last for the majority of people so the best thing we could advice to people would be to keep things fun and interesting. There are many things you can do with your diet and training plans that will keep you motivated.
ADD A FAT BURNER
