Carbohydrate are foods such as rice, pasta, potatoes, bread (complex carbs) and fruits/sugar (simple carbs). These days “carb depleting” is very popular! Many people are either reducing or some even cutting out carbohydrates for that elusive six-pack or to lose weight fast. But is this a wise thing to do and should you try it?
There is no doubt that reducing carbohydrates can have a dramatic effect on your body-fat levels. Second to saturated fats, excess carbohydrates turn to fat in your body and can get you looking out of shape in no time!
However, what many “experts” fail to tell you is that carbohydrates are an absolutely essential part of your daily diet and a crucial factor in a “healthy” existence. Carbohydrates play such an important role in so many bodily functions that cutting them out totally or reducing them dramatically can have a severe detrimental impact on many functions.
