Combat a slow metabolism with slow cooking. Follow this recipe for 5 hours to fat destruction.
Bad news, as soon as you hit your mid-twenties, your metabolism puts the brakes on. Good news, if you adopt the same approach in the kitchen, you can reset the clock. This slow-cooked casserole packs a cluster bomb of ingredients chosen to annihilate your fat stores. Protein-rich lamb and hot chillies are proven to increase calorie-burning as well as enhancing metabolism. This dish tastes great and one for the family to enjoy!
Ingredients
Lamb shoulder, approx 2kg
Olive oil, splash
Salt and pepper
Red onions, 4
Garlic cloves, 6
Red chillies, 2
Carrots, 3
Red wine, 2 glasses
Stock, 100ml
Balsamic vinegar, 200ml
Method
Place a large dish on the hob; season and brown the lamb. Chop the veg and add everything to the pot. Bring to the boil, cover and bake at 150°C for 5hr. Strain and reduce the sauce and pour it over the meat.
