High-Protein Detoxifying Avocado, Pineapple, and Cucumber Shake

High protein recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 1 ripe avocado, pitted and peeled
  2. 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  3. 1 medium cucumber, peeled and sliced
  4. 1 scoop of your preferred protein powder (whey, soy, pea, hemp, etc.)
  5. 1 tablespoon chia seeds (for added protein and omega-3s)
  6. 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional for sweetness)
  7. 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any preferred milk)
  8. A handful of fresh spinach or kale (for added detoxifying benefits and green color)
  9. 1/2 lemon or lime, juiced (for added detoxifying benefits and a zesty kick)
  10. A few ice cubes (optional for a colder shake)
  11. A pinch of Himalayan salt or sea salt (to enhance flavors and add trace minerals)

Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Ensure all ingredients are washed and prepped. For those new to using avocado in a shake, the creaminess it provides is akin to a banana but with the added benefits of healthy fats.

  2. Blend: In a high-powered blender, combine the avocado, pineapple chunks, cucumber slices, protein powder, chia seeds, and honey or agave syrup (if using).

  3. Add Greens and Liquids: Introduce the almond milk, fresh spinach or kale, lemon or lime juice, and ice cubes to the blender.

  4. Blend Again: Start blending at a low speed, gradually increasing to high speed. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  5. Taste and Adjust: Give your shake a quick taste. If it needs more sweetness, you can add a bit more honey or agave. If it's too thick, add a little more almond milk to thin it out.

  6. Serve: Once you've achieved the desired consistency and taste, pour the shake into a glass. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of Himalayan salt on top and give it a quick stir. This might sound unusual, but a hint of salt can enhance the flavors and provide trace minerals.

  7. Enjoy: Drink immediately to enjoy the full benefits of the fresh ingredients.
