Black beans are native to South America and you will often get them in foods such as burritos. Black beans come with many different health benefits, one of which is their high protein content which is essential for cells such as muscle and skin to repair and regenerate.
Black beans are also made up of an indigestible fraction (IF) this helps the colon generate butyric acid which greatly assists with the digestion of food in the later stages of digestion.
Before making them an inclusion ensure you soak the beans thoroughly overnight. This will reduce tannins and phytates which reduce valuable nutrient availability.
